Contemporary Modular Buildings
Sustainable construction without compromise
We appreciate that every client’s needs are different; therefore we take a more personal approach
to each project. Instead of having a large range of products we have developed a building
system flexible enough to meet most requirements. The vast majority of our buildings are designed
and built to order. This offers the best of both worlds; a custom building based on proven design
principles.
Modular Buildings
Modular construction is the process of using modules manufactured in a factory environment
which are transported to site and connected together to form a complete building. This method of
construction has many advantages over traditional build techniques.
Advantages of Modular Offsite Construction
Many people have pre-conceived ideas about modular or prefabricated buildings, but
are these accurate? The simple answer is no. These ideas are often based on limits
that faced this method of construction which have long since been addressed.
Modular buildings aren’t only temporary. Some modular buildings are temporary, and
this method of construction does lend itself to temporary or relocatable
buildings. However, modular buildings can also be built to last. If maintained
correctly, you can expect a modular building to last for 60 years or more.
Modular buildings aren’t low quality. As stated above, buildings made in a controlled
factory environment will generally be of higher quality than something built on site.
Modular buildings aren’t just unattractive boxes. As the saying goes, beauty is in the
eye of the beholder. If you find the common finish unappealing, there is a wide array
of options that you can choose from to improve the look of your building. Real brick
and timber cladding, as well as render are just three options that can be used and
combined however you see fit. We can also provide pitched tiled roofs to produce a
totally traditional appearance. Building interiors are also fully customisable.
Modular buildings don’t mean small rooms. This was the case in the past, though now
it is simple to create large, open plan rooms using modular construction. These rooms
are not just limited to offices; spaces like sports halls are also possible.
It is important to remember that modular buildings are subject to the same
regulations as traditional buildings, and can therefore be held to the same standard of
quality, appearance and permanence.
